SUMMER TIMES ARE NOW IN PLACE. Why not come along on a Tuesday or Thursday 6:30 for 7pm when it is much cooler. We also have a BBQ after the game on Thursday. See Don with his new BBQ set. Sunday moring bowling is now earlier; 09:15 for 09:30. Be good to see you there, even if you are not quite awake. The BBQ is 7€ for non-members and than includes the green fee and a burger with beef, sausage or chicken with optional free fried onions. Good eh?

The next Management meeting is on the 17th July 2010. If you any items for inclusion, please give to any Executive Committee member to arrange for the agenda to be updated. You could also send an email to the club hotmail address shown at the bottom of this page.
The Andalucians Championships are now completed so back to bowling this week. Here are the pictures followed by Sheila's write-up. Brian's detailed report is found by clicking here.

We have just finished The Andalucía Championships and what a wonderful nine days it has been. The competition and the quality of the bowling was of a high standard and was thoroughly enjoyed by the spectators.
In good weather for most of the time, though it did rain on the morning of the final day.
The final of the 4’s was between Pat Fisher’s team, Shirley Owen, Andy Salmon and Mary Detheridge played against Mike Detheridge’s team of Alan Turner, Murray Johns and Denis Tolfree. Pat’s team won, both teams were from Superbowl so well done to them all.
In the Pairs Andy Salmon and Jordan Ali from Superbowl beat Kate Shields and Mary Hilton from Benalmadina
In the men’s single’s semi final, Jim Taylor from Mijas played Malcolm Greenwood from Benavista in a very close match, it went right to the final wood with Malcolm Winning through. The other semi final was Andy Salmon against Murray Johns both from Superbowl. Murray winning through. Both semis were played in the rain.
The final between Murray and Malcolm was played in better weather with Murray winning.
The ladies single semi final’s had Dorrien Ives from Los Amigos beating Kate Morris of Benalmadina and the second semi Geraldine Robinson of Mijas beat Mary Detheridge. So the final was played by Geraldine and Dorrien with Geraldine winning the game. It was watched by an appreciative audience who gave the bowlers a big hand.
The competition was sponsored by Agnes of Colours Hair and Beauty in Benalmadina. After the games were completed Brian Attwoood thanked Roberto & Carol Wright for all their help to run the competition so well. It was team work and club members who helped out during the competition.
Derrick Hilton who represented the Andalucian federation thanked Pam Cole for the food provided throughout the competition and the members who manned the bar. He introduced Agnes from Colours who said a few words about how to look after your skin in the hot weather. She then presented the prizes to the new Andalucan Champions.
The day ended as the competition had begun in the sunshine.
The whole competition was well arranged by Mijas bowls club and we should be proud of our efforts.
